The attached PDF does say that glass is recyclable but the Cumberland County Landfill does NOT recycle glass. The general recycling rules are as follows:
Acceptable Recyclable Materials include the following:
- Plastic bottles and containers
- Aluminum, steel, and tin cans
- Paper
- Flattened cardboard
Items that CANNOT be recycled are as follows:
- Glass
- Garbage bags or plastic shopping bags
- Styrofoam
- Cables, hoses, or wires
- Batteries
- Electronics
- Tires
- Regular household garbage and construction materials
Also, do NOT put bagged recyclables in the recycling bins. Dump the recyclables out of the bags into the recycling bin.
